LOCATION

Cabarita Beach is the locality name, taken from  a housing estate development  in the 1960's, but the original, and postal name for this pretty little town with a poppulation of 1700, is Bogangar, a native Aboriginal word meaning 'place of many pippies', which refers to the ancient ceremonial shell middens in the area.

Cabarita has only limited development due to large areas of protected wetlands, creating a quiet, relaxed holiday atmosphere where the main activities are surfing (with a long right hand point break), swimming, beach and estuary fishing and canoeing. The shopping centre is small, but well-equipped. Lake Cudgen, around behind the Cabarita Ski Gardens site is a particularly good area for children and families enjoying boating as the water is only about 1.2m deep at most, and there are water tractors, canoes and catamarans for hire. Norries Headland is a particularly scenic spot for taking in views of Diamond Beach, and the walk around the headland is very popular.

Pottsville Beach is to the south of Cabarita Beach and  whats offered is more surf and goldern beaches ideal for swimming  and water sports.

Bne Ekibin Lions of MD201, Australia

As an extension to the Turkish Lions' contribution, the Brisbane Ekibin Lions Club of MD 201 Q1 (Australia) offer assistance to Lions Clubs who want to take advantage of the Turkish Lions offer, but are not familiar with web publishing. They've already set up many sites for Lions Clubs world-wide, using Lionwap.
If your club wants to be on the internet, and would like some help, leave a message in the Ekibin Guest Book by clicking on the image above.  This is a FREE SERVICE, so you don't spend a cent for their work. As Lionwap is also FREE, this means you get a web site that you NEVER have to pay for. - Is that a deal or what?
All your Club has to do it have some-one update and maintain your page, which needs not take more than a few minutes each month. The Ekibin Lions will even give you some tips on that!
